Paris Mayor @Anne_Hidalgo is championing “the quarter hour city,” where Parisians can get everything they need within 15 minutes. It means rethinking a LOT, even in a city like #Paris, including street design. Watch this via @ParisEnCommun @CarlosMorenoFr
What does a “quarter hour city” mean? A #Paris that’s even more dense, mixed & connected. How? Wider sidewalks. New 100% bike streets. School yards become weekend gardens. Intersections reinvented as neighborhood squares. Car parking converted into bike parking. And MUCH more.
“The 15-minute city would offer quality of life within short distances. The denser cities of the near future—& not just #Paris—will require turning streets into spaces of carbon-free mobility by walking or cycling, & reinventing new hyper-proximities.” forbes.com/sites/carltonr…
