Thinking what a positive "academic lecture" would be from the UK at this point. Think emphasising the UK remaining a high standard economy, the need for flexibility in the future, and the UK's political choice. With no implied threats or suggestions of what the EU could improve.
Wouldn't mind clarifying "no alignment" to something sensible, and promising best faith in implementing Northern Ireland protocol wouldn't go amiss.

We don't need to say we're prepared to walk away, or make empty threats on level playing field provisions. Probably still will...
