Bad, but Putin supports Sanders because 1) he's Trump's best chance in the general & 2) extremism and division are Putin's goal.
As he's demonstrated around the globe, and in France in particular, Putin will support radicals on the left and the right even at the same time. Radical agendas that marginalize moderates & cause chaos. Divide and conquer.
Putin sympathizes with the fascists of course, but if he can't install them he'll settle for greed, fracture, and incompetence, typical results of extremists in power or with enough influence to distort the national interest against foreign threats.
