Whilst some gun boat vision of imperial Britain might linger in the hearts of fantasist MPs it does not represent the leave voters who just wanted their problems fixed.
What counts is the thinking in the court of King Boris. The musings of one of his most obsequious courtiers last week were not comforting. Prepare for a very hard Brexit and careless insouciance from those delivering it.

Priti Patel insisted “Boris knew about the visit. The point is that the Foreign Office did know about this, Boris knew about [the trip]. It is not on, it is not on at all
Strange. She was at loggerheads with her then department and the Foreign Office too.

There seems to be a pattern emerging.

If the was so out in the open and official why did she pay for it? That is not normal. Pay for her family maybe, but herself?

It wasn’t us who said it was the easiest deal in history. That was him and them.
That’s why you READ the WA before signing it.

The PM will have had redlines versions with Article by Article explanations. I’m afraid a 2-4 page note on A4 IN BIG LETTERS WITH PICTURES just won’t do.

That is why you DON’T rush it through Parliament on an accelerated timetable

Why do I think the lightbulb has started to go off about what is in the WA ..the one Johnson signed and crowed about. Almost certainly with redlined notation about what it was that he couldn’t be arsed to read, because it is more than 2-4 pages?

Even more gold from @BESResearch -- while I do think that online opinion polls are generally extremely problematic due to the likely significant selection bias that it introduces, there is still some signal in the data that tells us about the nature of #leave support in 2016.
Waves 7/8 asked participants what they expect how the EU referendum is going to pan out... i.e. it asked what probability respondents attach to a #Leave vote, some subsequent waves ask whether people regret how they vote.
20 - 30% of respondents stated the probability of a #Leave success is less than 40%. Now, the nice thing is the BES also subsequently asked, how people voted and whether they regret how they voted -- it asks whether people are #remainernow
