Russia-Turkey are on the verge of war. 22 Turkish soldiers were killed with some reports being higher after reports that Russian forces fired on Turkish soldiers in Idlib. There is also an unconfirmed report that Turkey has told the Russian ambassador to leave. Will update
Turkish FM held a call with NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg and russian media is also reporting that Turkish army is firing at Russian planes in Syria

Russian media is reporting that Sputniks Turkey Chief editor Mahir Boztepe has been detained in Istanbul. This comes as Turkey is expanding their operations into Syria and escalation between Russia and Turkey are rising
I just checked the latest and the journalists have been released. Turkish police have made copies of all hard drives and a search was underway in the server room.
Also there are talks planned between Erdogan and Putin in Moscow. Very few details as of now

Bernie wasn't a Democrat decades ago and isn't one now. His natural instincts went to leaders like Castro and Soviets and he doubles down today. This along w his Soviet controlled talking points of Soviets being happy/dissidents speaking freely under Soviet regime are red flags
This comparison along with his Soviet comments and speeches at Communist USA will arm Republicans with everything they need to hand an already troubling election to trump without even a fight

Shell game between Putin/Erdogan. Trump will not side w/ Turkey against Russia. Erdogan will claim being abandoned by West/NATO. Justification for exit. Expect "de-escalation" followed by Erdogan claim "see the West is not Turkey's friend." The play?👇
Two strategic levels in play.

1. At a lower level, just like Iran's hand in Syria was weakened after Soleimani strike, Russia is consolidating in Syria, forcing another junior partner (Turkey) out, after it played its hand against US/allies (Kurds).

2. Russia, through this shell game (and partially alongside a willing Erdogan), now puts pressure on Europe, NATO, and US (not Trump, but US strategic interests, as he will never truly act against Russian interests, his one consistent line of action/thought).
