It was instant social death to speak to Johnny. I committed more than one sin. Not only did I speak to him, but when the bullies tried to rough him up I roughed up a few bullies. Funny thing was his speech impediment started disappearing. The bullies did not like paying a price
The bullies did not like paying a price for the pleasure of beating Johnny up so that disappeared too. It was not long before he could count more friends than just myself. He was actually a very friendly boy if people treated him better. It is strange how adults behave the same.
