Dancing in the wards in China and Iran.

Serenading whether by neighbours from their windows in the homes in Siena or in the hospitals in Iran, dancing in the balcony in Milan, or using online comms to keep classes, karaoke,and socialising going.
The need to adapt will not end with #COVID19 as we are in environments where these viruses often mutate, just as colds and flu do.

We have choices in how react.

Acceptance, adaption, action, altruism

Cooperation to survive and thrive.

Death toll doubles overnight by 11. Total fatalities. 21.

Big increase in number of tests to nearly 5k yesterday so interpret the rise in +ves in the light of that.

4975 tests. +342 positives. 14.54 tests to get one positive.

Same proportion as yesterday @dr_rf
This is the bar chart to reveal the change in the number of tests needed to get a positive up to date until yesterday (H/t @dr_rf

NB: testing hospital admissions particularly with respiratory infections has been prioritised the last three days (safety reasons)
For this reason data has to be interpreted in the light of changing cohorts.

I was, in fact, expecting a greater concentration of CV19 given who was being tested, so it is possible they are also maintaining community testing too.

More facts needed.

#CV19. UK death toll doubles overnight bringing total dead to 21 - Mirror

20 of those 21 deaths are from England (where the population is 54 mill so more expected. But 20 times more?

I think there should be a breakdown of the localities of these deaths.

The second set of data I think should be published is the number of new CV19 identified in and around Cheltenham compared to elsewhere from Monday 9th March when people started arriving for Gold Cup Week to 28 March 2020.
That way we can have some measure of the risks of large, partly open air events.

Also numbers for those from elsewhere traceable back to Cheltenham.

Time we had better quality evidence and information.

A Vaccine Won’t Stop the New Coronavirus - This viral class is likely to mutate so vaccine development will have to be cyclical and it won’t be quick.

Shutting borders, entertainment events, schools, closing cities won’t make this virus go away.

We have been watching countries become overwhelmed with very sick people resulting in hospital resources & health professionals so overstretched they are having to decide who will live and who will die.

Heartbreaking.

In my opinion the single best parameter that predicts longevity and improves #clinical outcome is #cardiopulmonary #fitness. #VO2Max is an easy way to quantify this. Having a ⬆️ #VO2max & a ⬆️#lactatethreshold could be the difference between life & death during #CoronaOutbreak

Lactate inflection point (LIP), is the exercise intensity at which the blood concentration of #lactate begins to increase exponentially. It can be improved significantly with regular exercise. #vo2max is the max rate of O2 consumption measured during incremental exercise.

People are anxious (and justifiably so) about the Coronavirus pandemic, the world over.

We've been monitoring the news closely as well. While I'm not a public health expert, I do have some insights on community mental health RN
While memes and jokes will tell you that mental health user/survivors are adept at cancelling plans and staying in for extended periods, the current situation isn't a laughing matter at all.

AFAIK most workplaces don't offer work from home options and are still working as usual
For someone living with Mental Illness, holding on to a job is essential given the costs of mental healthcare in our country. The added stress of #CoronaVirus is certainly the last thing someone with fragile Mental Health needs

1. At work:
✅If you're in a position of leadership, get on the same page with the rest of leadership
✅Know your institution's policies, collate them in 1 place, disseminate to employees
✅Be proactive in asking folks how they are. What ? do they have? If you don't know, say so
✅Amidst all the physical preparedness, don't forget to check on their mental and emotional health.

We are all scared. Uncertain of each coming day. Of each coming hour.

Don't assume when folks are quiet that they are not scare, confused, or just need a little comfort.
