THREAD (1/n)👇👇👇

Is it reasonable to call #coronavirus the “Chinese virus” or "Wuhan virus"?

Chinese Americans & refugees I queried are saying yes. But others are saying it's racist.

It originated in #China. Why is African swine fever virus named so?

But let's go deeper…
(2/n) After having massively mishandled #coronavirus in #China & hiding it for at least a month & a half, the Chinese communist party has gone into overdrive with pro-#CCP and anti-American propaganda.

Here's our own @EpochTimes thread documenting this:
(3/n) According to the #CCP, it's a savior both internally and globally. In reality, the CCP's #coronavirus statistics are highly suspect; it's questionable has actually been contained; draconian measures were taken internally; & the #CCP's secrecy has cost thousands of lives.
(4/n) 2 realities strike me:

(1) The Chinese people are as much victims of the #CCP's actions, if not more, as is the rest of the world facing a #CoronavirusOutbreak / pandemic

(2) "Chinese virus" / "Wuhan virus" usage (as much as it may be accurate) lets the CCP yell "racism!"
(5/n) There's a solution I've seen floating around, that's accurate, assigns culpability where it is due, avoids the question of racism & at the same time rolls nicely off the tongue:

#CCPvirus

It challenges the #CCP's false conflation of itself & #China / The Chinese people.
(6/n) So I'll be using #CCPvirus in the stead of, or in addition to #coronavirus, #COVID19, #WuhanCoronavirus, #NovelCoronavirus and others going forward.

#CCPvirus. The truth in a simple hashtag. Please join me!
