If you think it’s bad that there’s no toilet paper in the store, then imagine a hospital with no doctors.

Our doctors are putting their lives on the line to fight this deadly #coronavirus, and NO ONE is making sure they they’re protected.

I’ve spoken with doctors all over the country, and they are quietly echoing the same sentiments as Dr. Choi. While they want to help their patients, they are worried about being exposed—day after day—to this deadly #coronavirus.

One oncologist at a prestigious #cancer center told me that she was NOT allowed to wear her N95 mask (that SHE bought!) while seeing patients. Why? “You are being hysterical.”

WTH? She cares for #cancer patients—HIGH risk for serious #COVID19—who LOVE her wearing a mask.
Another friend, an anesthesiologist, told me that she had to buy her own N95 and PAPR masks. She is at high risk for exposure, because she intubates (places a breathing tube) multiple patients on any given day.

At least she is allowed to wear her #PPE!
Per Dr. @DMRDynamics, the U of Iowa #cancer center reports that they are “desperately out of tests and #PPE.”😳

We’ve been warned REPEATEDLY about #PhysicalDistancing, because ASYMPTOMATIC people can spread this deadly #coronavirus.

WHY AREN’T WE PROTECTING OUR DOCTORS⁉️
I spoke with several other doctors who say that they‘re NOT allowed to wear masks while seeing patients, unless the patient is suspected to have #COVID19.

This is SO STUPID.

Asymptomatic patiente can spread #coronavirus.

Doctors and other healthcare professionals NEED to wear #PPE—a mask and gloves at minimum—while seeing patients:

▶️Protects the healthcare worker
▶️Protects PATIENTS from getting infected

NY health officials will collect “convalescent” plasma (liquid part of blood) from recovered #COVID19 patients & inject the #antibody-rich plasma into sick #coronavirus patients.

This approach was used during the 1918 Spanish Flu #pandemic.

Although convalescent plasma is “old school,” it has a good chance of success.

Convalescent plasma decreased the severity of symptoms & shortened hospital stays for #SARS, and preliminary reports from #China suggests it also works for #coronavirus.😃
#COVID19 convalescent plasma first will be given to critically ill #coronavirus patients. Once proven safe & effective (good chance!), it will likely work best if given BEFORE patients get critically ill. It might also be effective in protecting front-line health care workers.🤗

‼️Dr. @RandPaul maintained his normal schedule *for days AFTER* getting tested—dining with colleagues at @SenateGOP lunches, voting on the Senate floor and swimming in the senators-only pool just hours before he received his #COVID19 results.

😱#COVID19 death toll in the US is rising at a faster rate than nearly any country, with #coronavirus deaths DOUBLING *nearly every 2 days*.

Deaths are a “lagging” indicator, as it takes time for patients to 1) become symptomatic (median=5 days) and 2) to succumb (2-3 weeks). 2/
This #coronavirus has an R0=3 (each infected person infects 3 other people on average).

After 10 rounds of this, that 1st infection leads to 59,000 new #COVID19 cases.

And the virus has been circulating UNDETECTED in our communities for MONTHS.🤬

After I wake up I take a hot shower to keep the virus at bay, no longer masculine since I cannot take cold showers.

I stumble over my crate of alphagetti, my foot already feels the first suffering of this horrible virus.

check my phone ...
Through my high speed internet connection I see the horrors of the virus third hand.

Videos of people at the bar which some anonymous asshole tells me are millennials laughing at the virus, no one holds a newspaper with todays date.

I trust anon.
1 can of alphagetti (945/947 remain) in the microwave. I was so busy crushing it I never learned how the stovetop worked, it's probably a liberal conspiracy to take my taxes

I then frantically share all the panic anon takes on these random videos

First check to see if they bothered to add any variability whatsoever in the model they are using to supposedly report actual numbers from a complex system.

The mortality rate they want you to report is the - 0 day rate: Today's Confirmed Death total minus Today's Confirmed Case total.

This has not varied outside of 1/10th of 1% in the last 5 prints.
