1. Don't dismiss polls. But @kayleighmcenany was exactly right.

The Fox Poll, as has been the case now since they switched firms, has been an outlier and not particularly accurate.

A president with roughly 48% approval will not get 40% of the vote. It's not believable or sound.
2. That's particularly true of Donald Trump, who gets ≈ 12%-15% of the vote of those who do NOT approve.

Very strange phenomena, but very consistent.

Also, on Fox Polls...

Donnelly+7. Conor Lamb+7. And on and on and on.

How's Senator Donnelly these day?
3. And just for anyone who disagrees with my take on the Fox Poll, accept this challenge.

Find me an election in which the incumbent president had a 48% approval rating and got 40% of the vote.

You can't. You can't find one who lost with a 48% approval, let alone with 40%.
