How can startups cope with COVID? 🧠💡

By pooling our learnings and emerging stronger.

We were in the midst of a very interesting stage when #COVID-19 struck.

Wizikey had attained PMF, we had made some headway with overseas customers and were all set to welcome new team members too!

But, the startup life is never predictable, and COVID-19 is our newest challenge. 💡

By virtue of being in the communications industry we were able to take some early measures, thanks to forewarnings from counterparts in China and the US.

We started WFH as early as 5th March. The first 2 weeks had us transitioning into the WFH lifestyle.

As a #SaaS company we were positioned to deal with this better than most.

Some of our teams were already working remotely, and the rest of us joined soon enough.

The next two weeks were about communicating with every customer. 🗣

#PR has definitely emerged as more relevant than advertising, in times of #COVID. 📢

It’s a good time to build trust with customers, and we’re doing just that, even if predictable revenues take a hit.

We feel blessed to have empowered rather than entitled employees. 🏆

They dealt with this situation with maturity and have helped us shoulder the burden.

We believe that transparent communication and collective decision making is key to emerging strong post COVID.

We feel very fortunate to be involved with some progressive steps taken by the startup and VC ecosystem such as the @actioncovidteam. 🤝

And look forward to government initiatives for the startup community, like helping with cash flow for the early-stage companies. 📈
