.@BernieSanders Let’s revisit Bernie's health-care history, shall we? THREAD. 1/
/ #Hillary gave us a chance at real universal healthcare in 1993 when she chaired the Task Force that created TheHealthSecurityAct in 1993.
/ The bill was introduced in the House with 103 co-sponsors. Bernie was NOT among them. Instead, Bernie divided Democrats by co-sponsoring
/ a competing State-based plan. It is very important to note that State-based plans are not truly universal, because Red State Governors
/ can write their own rules or refuse to participate. Bernie’s State-based plan divided enough Democrats to keep the bill from passing.👿
/ By the 1994 mid-term elections, the GOP took control of both the House and Senate, ending prospects for universal health care.
/ Then, in 2016, Bernie slammed Hillary for her support of making ACA even better. Once again, Bernie supported a State-based plan.
/ So, when Bernie talks about health care, remember HE is the one who helped BLOCK universal healthcare more than 25 years ago! #SaveACA
/ Great art! MFA is likely to resemble Medicaid. The destitute will love it,those w/workplace group plans notsomuch.
