(Late to the news)

[Information on transition in Nyeri County]

Governor Gakuru was a humble leader and his death has left
Nyeri residents shocked as this is the second governor they have lost in a 10 month period.

[Tribute to the Late Gov Wahome Gakuru]
We ask for God's comfort upon Gov Gakuru's family and the people of Nyeri.

Kabati, where Gov Gakuru was involved in an accident, has proven
to be a traffic blackspot especially in bad weather. Security officers have warned drivers to be cautious at that spot to stay safe.
The groups that have filed petitions at the Supreme Court opposing Pres Kenyatta's election victory have till the end of the day to give
Uhuru and Chebukati's lawyers the petition. There are concerns about quorum deficits with Justice Ibrahim out sick; resulting in a 6-judge
bench.

Kirinyaga residents are living in anxiety after a cholera outbreak in the county.
Let's check out the roads and see what the weather will be like today.

Today is the last day for the submission of election petition documents to the leader of the country and the IEBC Chair. We see that the
IEBC has changed lawyers. Muite has been replaced by Gatonye and the other lawyers we saw are no longer there. We don't yet know who will
represent Chebukati. What we know for a fact is that the President's lawyers have been instructed to pick petition documents.

Today is World Food Day.

The sad thing is that, even as we celebrate World Food Day, there are people starving in Northern Kenya. People
with jobs below average - earning Ksh 100 or KSh 200 per day - have food issues. Those who earn 100/- can't spend more than 70/- per day on
food. The questions is --- how can we take advantage of various technologies to make sure Kenyans do not experience food insecurity?
Let's put aside World Food Day matters and go to Tanzania. It has been having issues with Kenya over livestock. Yesterday, Magufuli fired an
official for not being able to account for funds.

He fired her in the same way Moi used to fire government officials by the road. Here in
Kenya, the only one that can match him is Gov Sonko. He's not well-loved in the County Assembly because he doesn't spare them

If we look at
the Cabinet, who would go by this measure - nor being able to account for their docket's funds?

Let's start with Matiang'i. He'd stay, he
is doing a good job.

And we need to talk about this man Ngengi Muigai who it is being said has prophetic powers. He foresaw the Lake Nakuru
plane crash and the governor's accident yesterday.

This guy claims he's a pilot but he can't speak English. He's a pilot, yes, but does he
speak to passengers in Kikuyu?

And why is he called the same name as members of the first family?

I think it's just a name - lots of us
share names with people who have no relation to us.

We have Lawyer JM Waiganjo in the studio with us to talk about the petition.
What is happening today?

The petitioners are expected to submit documents to the respondents today and they have some time to respond.
...

The Opposition claims that they will not recognise the President but they haven't filed any petition.

Oh, they have. Don't be fooled.
Some of the petitioners are proxies for the opposition. When they lose and Uhuru is installed as President, they'll have to accept their
loss. This is a country that operates on the basis of the constitution and the rule of law.

What about these People's Assemblies they are
talking about? Because it seems like people read the Constitution selectively; paying attention to the sovereignty of the people and not
much else... We'll discuss all of that after the 8 o'clock news.
