The dude is playing both sides of the narrative, which is weird. He claims to not have been an undercover employee, then in his letter to Comey says he has years of experience with FBI personnel. He says he's chased out of Trump tower with a flyswatter, yet also met Trump often.
He claims to again never have worked as an UCE, but the link was already made that he WAS; even if he was never an agent, the DoJ has a classification of 'undercover employee' for such people
Honestly, I think the problem is HE'S under NDA's for what he is, possibly what he was doing in the Trump campaign. Here's the scary part: Let's assume his contacts with Russians were part of his work as a UCE of the FBI. Those contacts are then used as a justification for FISA.
How did Steele know about this low-end nobody, which by all accounts is what Page was before 2016? Steele wouldn't have known he was a UCE, no doubt, but SOMEONE drew his attention to Carter Page. Then, the top of the FBI, how would THEY not know that Carter Page was a UCE?
Did they not bother to check, was this application too secret for those who put it together to check? Or did they know, and carry forwards with the Steele dossier knowing the Russian contacts were at their behest?
Because if THAT'S the case, that would mean they KNEW the Steele dossier was seriously flawed, and they presented it to the FISA court ANYWAYS, rendering the entire FISA warrant bumpkus. And given the 3 hop rule of a FISA warrant, it means their spying on the Trump camp was bogus
