1. On Scott Pruitt

Liberal media has pulled out all stops to take down Scott Pruitt, President Trump's EPA Administrator. So I thought he must have done something horrible. Nope. Media breast-beating is prompted by Scott Pruitt being extremely effective.
2. Let's review the liberal media charges against Pruitt. He rented a room that critics say created an appearance of conflict because he got a good rate. He was approved for the room by an 18-year career ethics person at EPA, but liberal opponents are “concerned.”
3. Also, Pruitt “bypassed” the White House to get raises for two of his top aides who came to DC from Oklahoma. Pruitt didn’t get White House approval to sign off on the pay raises, but EPA officials used an authority that other EPA administrators used to set pay.
4. Other "scandals" include that his security team had him flying first class because of the death threats and other physical security threats. Oh, also, EPA officials "considered" leasing a private jet for Pruitt to accommodate his travel and security needs but didn’t do it.
5. All this after the media didn't cover Obama's EPA Administrator, Lisa Jackson, with any rigor despite her demonstrated corruption. She used the alias “Richard Windsor” to correspond secretly with people outside of the EPA, including with environmental activists.
6. Under Obama admin the EPA caused Gold King Mine spill, the EPA ignored Flint Water Crisis, the EPA administrator misled Congress, and the EPA violated federal propaganda policies. Media never covered those with even a fraction of the bloodlust being visited upon Pruitt.
7. For many people on the left, EPA regulations touch on quasi-religious views. They treat people like Pruitt as heretics who must be destroyed. That’s why we’re witnessing the coordinated hits on him.
WSJ's Kimberley Strassel noted:
8. WSJ's Kimberley Strassel blasts to smithereens the hypocritical and nonsensical liberal charges against Scott Pruit in this detailed thread.
9. Enough of the insane liberal environmental zealots trying to take down an effective EPA Administrator who is doing a ton of good since he took office at the helm of EPA. Let us look at what and how.
10. Pruitt's sharp focus is on restoring contaminated lands, safeguarding our nation's air and water, and he's doing so by respecting real science rather than the ideologically driven fake science of his predecessors.
11. Scott Pruitt observes, our nation can be, "pro-growth, pro-jobs and pro-environment." Absolutely!
In just over a year, Pruitt has worked with the president to roll back dozens of needless regulations that will save America's manufacturing & energy sectors billions annually.
12. The truth is for many years EPA has issued regulations and mandates by bureaucrats who are completely ignorant of how real businesses and industry sectors operate or the compliance costs they already must endure.
13. What's even more appalling is how the EPA bureaucrats used to blatantly ignore or distort inconvenient facts in conjuring up their suffocating, anti- growth decrees. Pruitt's EPA is changing all that.
14. Pruitt has made the EPA a far more effective, efficient agency by eliminating many unnecessary, bureaucratic backlogs. Pruitt's EPA has cut the amount of time it takes to review state water quality standards in half — from 120 days to 60 days.
15. Pruitt's EPA has already committed some $25 million in water infrastructure loans and has disbursed nearly $9 billion in state funding to improve water quality. Flint Michigan for example, has received $100 million for water infrastructure upgrades.
16. And the notion that enforcement under Scott Pruitt's EPA is lacking is just plain false. In fiscal 2017, EPA collected $1.6 billion in administrative and civil judicial penalties. That is higher than any of the previous ten years of EPA enforcement operations, excluding 2016.
17. By halting burdensome, often duplicative regulations, Pruitt's EPA can focus on measurable environmental protection, guided by peer-reviewed science without hurting consumers or Americans looking for skilled jobs in the energy or manufacturing sectors.
18. The most important change of all, Pruitt's EPA is now operating under the proper rule of law and staying true to its mandate and defined authority by respecting facts rather than ideological fiction.
19. The days of a rogue, agenda driven EPA are over. Pruitt is the right man for the job and it's no wonder the radical left is screaming for his ouster.

The above thread is a compilation of snippets culled from several sources -- thanks to IBD, WSJ, The Federalist.

The END.
Glad to see full-throated support for Scott Pruitt from his boss. Trump knows a fake from a genuine article. Scott Pruitt is a keeper.
