Our report on #policebrutality shows that the same violent patterns are deployed in different European countries to allow police forces to continue brutalising racialised communities; #structuralracism can no longer be ignored in Europe.
The #Covid19 measures have also allowed police and law enforcement to further brutalise racialised communities. We all remember the #MichelZecler case in France:⤵️

The EU #MigrationPact reinforces a narrative focused on exclusion and security at any cost.
It fails to address the impact of structural #racism and how it plays out in practices & policies that put people’s lives at risk. Is this really ‘solidarity’?
An anti-racism THREAD 👇🏿👇🏿
2/ EU migration policies are historically based on racial discrimination and shaped by a neo-colonial approach.
This needs to be addressed, such as the notion of who belongs to Europe and the criminalisation of moving, which disproportionately impacts racialised groups.

We should ask ourselves what #Decolonization means to Muslims, Jews, Roma, Afro/ Asian Europeans, People of Colour, LGBTIQ community, CSO's, EU institutions, policy makers of #Europe.
We must decolonise our structures that drive discrimination to built an inclusive Europe. #Decolonization is essential to address structural racism in EU Member States.
Toppling statues of criminals & racist colonialists is essential to make Europe future proof just as education on the real colonial history of Europe. #BlackLivesMattters

Our European monitoring shows heavy-handedness by police enforcing #coronavirus lock-downs.
Therefore, we call for French law enforcement agencies' restraint "in this time of confinement & tensions" & to operate within a strictly legal framework, without discrimination. @ccif
“Heavy-handed security responses undermine the health response & can exacerbate existing threats to peace & security or create new ones” says the report by @antonioguterres on how HR must guide the response to the #Covid_19 & recovery from the pandemic.
#MSM must put more focus on discussing how the #coronavirus#pandemic is exacerbating inequalities. It is our social duty to be a voice for the voiceless.
🥳#InternationalRomaDay!
The world is celebrating the legacy & history of #Roma people. Their contribution to social advancement in #Europe is immeasurable.
Therefore, we should lift the barriers of #Antigypsyism in an act of solidarity. @antonioguterres@UNHumanRights@ECRI_CoE
Understanding how racism is hitting minorities in different ways in #EU is key to understand how it make us all vulnerable against a crisis like #coronaoutbreak.
#COVID19 is exacerbating structural racism and inequalities in society.
We must listen to the voices of racialised and marginalised communities and those organising for justice to challenge these inequalities: enar-eu.org/CoronaDiaries-…
We are a community. We are only as strong as the most vulnerable among us.
We at ENAR demands the highest priority for effective & efficient policies to address the root causes & ensuring the safety of all minorities across #EU. #Germanyshooting
