2/ Exports represent about 83% of the Dutch Economy and this number, incredibly while in the EU, is still rising.
The comparable percentage for UK exports is 33% of GDP and going down these last few years. It peaked around 2013 in fact.

Us Dutch know which side of our bread is buttered. This is why we keep our EU customers happy. You heard of Parma Ham? Actually bred and fattened in Holland, only smoked in Italy after a short ride in a Dutch truck. Dolmio spaghetti sauce? Made in Holland. Marmite? Say no more!
4/ What we do in the Netherlands is we assign our junior sales reps to EU customers and tell them: All you have to do is keep them happy! They'll keep sending in those orders. Cut your teeth on that and your bonus is secure.
5/Our best sales reps however we send to the BRIC countries because we see huge potential for growth there.
We aim to build that business up besides our existing EU business, so in the long term we are successful in both markets.

6/In Foreign lands, we're the people doing deals at restaurant tables with the locals, while UK sales reps loiter at the bar, drunk and shouting what a shit country they're visiting.
