From the week following the election. Still stands.
The Russia story is a much smaller subset of the larger story, which is that Republicans are opposed, in practice and philosophically, to free and fair elections, and will take whatever help they can get executing their strategy of weakening and ultimately dissolving them.
They put her thumb on the scales as hard as they can, and it weakens democracy.

They’ll use compromised elections win as many races as they can.

And they’ll use the fact that our elections have been compromised to question the ones they lose.

Which weakens democracy further.
It’s not new. Russia may have helped them take power in 2016, but their own efforts to disenfranchise did far more toward that end.

Increasingly they take power without getting the most votes.

And they’re already starting to just ignore the rules where they can.
Voting for a Republican—any Republican—is now anti-democracy.

If you like the idea that the United States is a country with free and fair elections, it’s also anti-American.
Oh and also increasingly their leader repeats neo-Nazi talking points verbatim while most of the rest of them studiously look the other way.

But more and more of them are also saying the same things.

And we debate whether it’s appropriate to say so.

That’s where we are.
Without advocating for any specific action, I think if somebody votes for a Republican—any Republican—anger is a fitting emotional response.

It's a hostile act.
Honestly, I think this is going to come down to whether or not the majority of so-called 'white' people manage to achieve the absolute minimum basic standard of human decency, and reject this horror-show power grab.

The odds ... don't encourage me.

But dammit you'd better vote.
