If history has taught us anything it's that you cannot appease extremists. They will not be placated, it's just seen as weakness. May has tried it with the ERG, but it's been tried throughout history.

2) #Brexit was an oversold idea, based on lies. It's foundations are in division, fear & extreme nationalism. Any possible positives are trivial in comparison. Even for those who say "it's not about immigration" well, it's mostly about immigration.

So there's no good Brexit

3) worse however is the #Brexit we're going to get, anything from a flaccid compromise to a damaging no deal. And the "mob" that McDonnell & others appear to be frightened of will not be satisfied in any event.

4) any compromise with Europe will be betrayal, any economic damage will be the fault of evil forriners.

Brexit doesn't end in March 19, it just goes on.

We face it now, or we deal with it for the next 10 years

5) so we have a #PeoplesVote, we end this stupidity, and 20% of the population feel betrayed? Too bad, they've already been betrayed by their leaders. Let them suck it up, or let them riot (which is doubtful). They'll do it anyway at some point

6) but saying "stopping Brexit will empower the far right"? They're already empowered - the toxic leave campaigns already empowered them.

Brexit validates them, it's a victory for them

7) seriously, if we're scared of stopping something stupid via democratic means because of "the mob", then we're no longer a democracy
