Trump says Mexico will buy more ag goods now.

"Our farmers are going to be so happy. The farmers have stuck with me--I said we were going to do this.

"And Mexico's promised to immediately purchasing as much farm product as they can. They're going to work on that very hard."

TRUMP CRITICIZES CHINA, saying he rejects their request for more trade talks.

"They want talk. It's just not the right time to talk right now, to be honest, with China. It's been too one-sided for too many years, for too many decades and so it's not the right time to talk."

Lots of warmth between Trump and Mexico's Enrique Peña Nieto, who was on speaker phone in Oval Office for trade deal announcement.

Peña Nieto offered a "toast, with tequila, of course" to celebrate.

And Trump told him, at end of call: "A hug from you would be very nice."

Jared Kushner, on a conference call with reporters, hinted that Trump may want to work with Mexico on border issues next.

"The spirit of cooperation and trust...hopefully will just continue to get better and lead to an even better and more prosperous and safer relationship."

Canada’s Trudeau says his phone call with Trump this afternoon was “constructive.”

Trudeau says the trade teams will engage “with a view to a successful conclusion of negotiations.”

Trump had wanted to speak to Trudeau this a.m. BEFORE the Mexico trade deal announcement at 11a, but Canada said Trudeau had a schedule conflict at the requested hour, sources told me and @josh_wingrove.
