You: Yeah, pretty much.

2) Kid: That’s how Trump was able to avoid all of the corruption in his past? And able to go on to nullify the 2020 election even though he lost?
You: Yep, pretty much.
Kid: This is why women and girls who get pregnant have to travel to California to have an abortion?
You: Yep

3) Kid: That is why a girl in my class died because her family couldn’t afford to go to California for an abortion after she was raped by a rich kid from prep school?
You: Sadly, yes.
Kid: That’s when Trump made all of our allies mad and our soldiers died without their aid?

You: Yes.
Kid: That’s when we all had to sign up for the draft and college wasn’t an excuse anymore?
You: Yes, military families were sick of multiple tours to Iraq so they quit signing up. And with no allies to help....
Kid: Why did we invade Iraq again? 9-11?

You: No that wasn’t by Iraqis.

You: W Bush and Cheney lied and said there were WMD there.
Kid: Were they Republicans that lied about it?
You: Yes.
Kid: Wasn’t W Bush in charge when the economy crashed in 2008 too?
You: Yes.

6) Kid: Why did people vote for another Republican after Obama pretty much fixed everything. You know getting us outa wars and recessions?
You: The majority *didn’t* vote for Trump but Russia helped put him in office.
Kid: Why didn’t anyone do anything about it?

7) You: A guy named Mueller tried. He put several guys in jail for conspiring with Russia but the investigation was stopped.
Kid: Who stopped it?
You: Trump.
Kid: The guy who was under investigation?
You: Yes.
Kid: Why didn’t someone stop him?

8) You: In 2018, we worked hard to get Democrats in Congress. Some Republicans voted for Democrats and a few of the 46% who didn’t vote in 2016 even voted but it was really hard to win because of gerrymandering.
Kid: What’s gerrymandering?

9) You: Dividing voters up into districts (voting groups) so they can win more Congressional seats.
Kid: They fixed that though, right?
You: No not really. The SCOTUS tried to fix it a little in 2017-18, but Trump changed the way we count people in 2020.

10) Kid: But even with cheating by gerrymandering, Russia hacking, and Trump messing with the census, Democrats won in 2018, right?
You: Yes, we won in 2018.
Kid: So that’s good, right?
You: Oh yes, it was awesome. More women were elected than ever before.
Kid: Why?

11) Kid: Was that because of Dr. Ford?
You: Yes women were very mad that a few Committee Senators didn’t let the FBI investigate her accusation.
Kid: Weren’t some of the guys the same ones that treat Anita Hill badly too?
You: Yes they were some of the same ones.

12) Kid: So those same guys never investigated his finances or his lies either?
You: No they didn’t.
Kid: Why did they rush to put him in the Supreme Court?
You: They knew he would protect Trump.
Kid: They knew? And they didn’t do anything?
