1. The #Iran Action Group created by @SecPompeo last month released its report. Iran's role in the region, which other administrations overlooked, appears to be under intense scrutiny. #Houthis in #Yemen have been identified alongside groups responsible for attacks against the US
2. The report stated that consequences of #Iran's meddling include its lethal ballistic missiles, which advanced its proxies military capabilities: "Yemen’s #Houthi militants have fired numerous ballistic missiles into #Saudi Arabia, including two directed at Riyadh in May 2018."
3. The report also indicated that since 2012: "#Iran has spent over $16 billion propping up the #Assad regime and supporting its other partners and proxies in #Syria, #Iraq, and #Yemen."
4. The report mentioned @FDD findings that: 'Afghan Fatemiyoun were deployed to #Yemen to fight alongside Houthis'. Children in combat prompted listing #Iran under Child Soldiers Prevention Act.

Not mentioned, but #Iran-#Houthis have significant child soldiers in their midst.
5. Details of #Iran's provision of ballistic missiles to #Houthis were further evidenced by the debris recovered from the strikes from #Yemen into #KSA, assessment of the Qiam missile, as well as the UN Panel of Experts report, which cited Iran as the origin of the missile.
6. Additionally, the US Treasury designated five #Iranian individuals for providing ballistic missile-related technical expertise to #Houthis. "The individuals were also responsible for transferring weapons to Yemen on behalf of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force"
7. Hugely essential but underreported is the #IRGC counterfeiting activity. The report says that in 2017, the IRGC-QF engineered a plot to produce counterfeit currency. It "printed counterfeit Yemeni bank notes, which were used to support its destabilizing activities in Yemen."
9. #Iran's role in supporting the #Houthis has been flushed out including threats to international navigation and maritime activity through #Iran's assistance to #Houthis in targeting warships & commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
10. The illicit shipment originating from Iran & bound for #Yemen in 2016 originated from #Iran, which the report states as clear defiance of UN Security Council arms embargo
11. The report clearly blames Iran’s for supporting #Houthis and "helping to prolong the country’s civil war and worsen an already devastating humanitarian tragedy."
12. Interestingly, the report somehow echoes the same sentiment of Colin Powell's WMD UN speech that primed the war on #Iraq.

However, unclear that its war that the administration is after. #Iran
13. The report appears to clarify and justify the administration anti-#JCPOA stance & perhaps win over some of Trump's critics who perceived his disengagement with #Iran as abrupt/reckless.
14. As such, intelligence on #Iran's involvement has been gathered over time spanned different administration, & the report appeared to cite different sources, including the UN, think tanks, and intl. non-profit organizations/ humanitarian orgs in support of its evidence.
15. Through exposing #IRGC's mischief, which has been underreported in the name of detente with #Iran, the administration is attempting to persuade Iran's economic allies (Europe), of the moral value of pressuring Iran, which remains defiant & mercurial about its nuclear program.
