Hi, if you’re a snob about who can and who cannot call themselves an “engineer,” I have some bad news for you
Your compatriot snobs are kind of assholes
Soooo now in case law we have a prior decision that anyone can call themselves an engineer, regardless of their level of “professional training”
The word “engineer” is really, now, what it always should have been: just a marker indicating how you, personally, think about your job.
For me, “engineer” means knowing that all decisions are tradeoffs. It means considering both upsides & downsides of each technical choice, and doing so with explicit consideration of the larger system context.
I am ok with “engineer” meaning different things to other people. (It always did, by the way - whether regulated or no.)

The difference gives us something interesting to talk about 😊
Yes, exactly!

The ruling found that “engineer” and “professional engineer” are distinct categories, and that only the latter requires certification.
