(1/8) In June 2017, a spokesperson for Eric Trump’s old foundation, which changed its name to Curetivity, told me “Eric Trump is not involved in raising funds for Curetivity.”
(2/8) That seemed to line up with the message the charity was sending other people, including @fahrenthold, who was told an Eric Trump Foundation event at Mar-a-Lago had been cancelled.
(3/8) But then @derwouter unearthed social media posts showing that apparently the Mar-a-Lago event did take place—and Eric went.
(4/8) He also attended a May 2017 event at the Trump golf course outside of Washington, D.C., according to social media posts.
(5/8) In September 2017, the charity held a fundraiser at the Trump course in Westchester County, New York. (Yes, the fundraiser was still at the Trump course after the charity spokesperson said Eric wasn’t involved in raising funds.) Also, Eric showed up in photos from the event
(6/8) In May 2018, Eric traveled with the executive director of Curetivity to St. Jude hospital. The people he met there made it clear that they thought Eric was still involved with his old charity, referring to Curetivity “his foundation” and “his amazing organization.”
(7/8) And just a few months ago, in September 2018, both Eric and his brother Don Jr. attended yet another Curetivity golf outing at their father’s Westchester County, New York club.
(8/8) So was the charity telling the truth when it claimed that “Eric Trump is not involved in raising funds for Curetivity?” No, no it was not. This one is as clear as day.
