Chair promises a 2020 process that is fair. Will release a protocol on debates soon; expect debates in summer 2019 . Will decide by March 2019 the Host City for 2020 Convention: Houston, Miami Beach, or Milwaukee.
We have worked hard to rebuild trust on our presidential process. Rules and Bylaws Cttee working with early states on rules. A key rule change ends superdelegates voting 1st round absent consensus candidate BUT elected officials can still be PLEOs & not run against constituents.
The PLEO Party Leader Elected Official designation is for pledged delegates who are Members of Congress Governors etc who want a first round #DNC convention vote but don’t want to run against activist to get there.

Last night I promised a thread about #abortion before Roe v Wade legalized it nationally. Until the mid-1800s, common law allowed abortion until "quickening", when fetal movement can be felt. Toxic abortion remedies & doctors competing w midwives led to… 1/
laws outlawing abortion except where pregnancy was likely to be fatal spreading across the country. Bottled abortion remedies could be and were fatal, and doctors, almost all white and male, didn't want midwives competing with them for pregnancy care. 2/

That's a bit simplistic. But the bottom line is that the claim shutdowns are political suicide for GOP is bunk. It's based on a nearly 3-decades old farce. Last time, we heard the same nonsense. All it did, as @tedcruz believed it would, was fire up Republican voters.
2. Republicans cannot keep giving Democrats everything they want, which is everything they were elected to stop & expect their base to remain loyal & enthusiastic. Midterms are base elections. Ds are already fired up. Rs have only their credibility to gain and nothing to lose.
3. I can hear @realDonaldTrump now in a shutdown fight.

"Why Chuck and Nancy, why have you abandoned those poor children you pretend to care so much about? For special interest? Shame on you."

That's real 4D chess right there. I know the polling he's looking at. It'll work.
