Today, CS @ketercharles leads the #OimekeTariffLies @energy_ke @KenyaPower brigade via the very hamstrung @dailynation to justify the theft.

Let me break it down.

2. WaKenya: there are 2 kinds of domestic consumers.

a) domestic lifeline (less than 100 units/mth = Sh10/unit)
b) domestic ordinary (more than 100 units/mth = Sh15.8/unit)

You MUST average either less or more than 100 units over 3mths to stay in a category.

3. WaKenya: so, if you are "lifeline" (Sh10) & by bad luck you exceed your 100 units - say to 110 units - on 1 of the months but on the other 2mths you were at 99, your 3mth average will be 102.6 units/mth.

You will be automatically moved to "domestic" (Sh15.8)

4. WaKenya: if you are "domestic" (Sh 15.8) & you kaza mshipi, travel or whatever & manage to bring your consumption down to below an average of 100 units/mth over 3mths, you will pay Sh15.8 until the next cycle.

& then down to Sh10 (lifeline).

5. WaKenya: rinse & repeat. You will move back & forth from Lifeline Customer (Domestic Consumer 1) to Domestic Ordinary (Domestic Consumer 2) FOREVER & EVER with a 3mth lapse before an unceremonious shift.

What kind of rubbish is this? Messing with our budgets?

6. WaKenya: the newspaper article goes on to cockily confirm that #OimekeTariffLies can now be applied directly by @KenyaPower without even having to consult ERC (in any case they are all in bed together).

Do you understand better WHY Petition 6 must be revived?

7. WaKenya: while you grapple with the Sh10 & Sh15.8 whiplash, please remember that all other levies apply.

8. WaKenya: we can safely conclude that the mgrs & boards of @KenyaPower @energy_ke led by CS @ketercharles of @EnergyMinK have every intention to continue to bleed each & everyone of us dry while they hide behind #OimekeTariffLies.

& Pres @UKenyatta ignores us.

9. WaKenya: Petition 6 contained specific prayers that sought to address these issues. In fact, the Sh10.1B overbilling has likely been exceeded because @KenyaPower has never stopping fraudulently billing consumers & has never offered requisite customer service.

10. WaKenya: So, to settle Petition 6 out of court for 👇🏿is an absolute travesty. Despite @dkmaraga's reshuffle of the constitutional & human rights division judges who were presiding over this and Petition 59, we are still confident that justice will be served.
