I think I may have burst a blood vessel reading this pro-dictator, warmongering Tony "conflict of interest" Blair op-ed on Iran and the Middle East in the Washington Post.

How some in the Labour Party can slam Corbyn but be okay with Blair is still beyond me. FFS.

Check out this gem of a para from Blair on the Middle East where he mentions Yemen, without mentioning the Saudi bombing/starvation campaign; he mentions Bahrain without mentioning their crackdown; and mentions Iraq's "independence" - the guy who illegally effing invaded Iraq! 2/
On the subject of the Iraq invasion, literally every expert on the region agrees that the war in Iraq was a gift to Iran and empowered and boosted Iran both in Iraq and across the region. Oh, the irony of Blair (!) now giving advice on how to counter Iran.

I still remember how Jon Snow once told me how he once asked Blair about whether or not the UK was responsible for the rise of the ayatollahs in Iran, given the UK's role in the 1953 coup against Mossadegh, and Blair was completely unaware of all this basic Iran/UK history. 4/
Btw, Blair lies (surprise!) in the WaPo, saying the removal of Saddam in '03 could have led to an opening up with Khatami's Iran but Iran didn't want one. In fact, Iran reached out via the Swiss, offering a grand bargain - and were rebuffed by Cheney and Bush. Blair knows this 5/
Taking advice from Blair on what to do in the Middle East is like taking advice from Donald Trump on how to tackle corruption.
