And sure, there is always a legal argument to be made that sounds plausible. And lots of government lawyers will work extremely hard (with lots of billable hours) to argue this or that about s. 91 and s. 92. But the federal #cdnpoli gov’s ability to tax is fairly clear. #skpoli

But I’ll bet dollars to donuts that the #skpoli gov sees this as a win-win-win scenario. Win in court (unlikely) and great, no tax. Don’t win in court, but keep anti-carbon tax issue alive for 2020, great (for them, less for the environment). #cdnpoli

Don’t win in court, and rally against Ottawa interfering with provinces (again, a win). So here’s the question, how much money will be spent for this political strategy when it is also a fight against proactive environmental policy to actually tackle climate change in #skpoli?

And this delaying tactic could also prove effective if the Liberals don’t win the 2019 election. So another win. Can we at least admit that this is all about #skpoli politics and almost nothing to do with the law? At least that’s my very (probably weak) take. #cdnpoli
