It doesn't matter if the individual still of the act includes the minor engaged in sexual activity - this is a portion of a 'product' that was produced to depict an adult engaging in a sexual act with a child.

And - if my interpretation is correct - wouldn't that mean that Avenatti is in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 2252 himself for just continuing to possess the footage?
