I started tweeting about 8 years ago to try and increase understanding of and support for human rights in the UK - on current evidence I have failed miserably!
Thank you for the replies - I'm honestly not looking for lots of people backing me up here, though it is much appreciated.

That was in a brief moment of despair. It gets to me when people attack my professional integrity and have very different ideas of what human rights mean
I do worry about the professional implications of taking on a highly politically charged issue like this

I take strength from the fact that real human rights fights are never 'obvious' until you people look back.

It's only later that the neat boxes and good + evil are applied
I feel confident enough that I have satisfied myself, listening hard, showing my working, being independent, that the issue is real and there is an answer.

Ultimately, I can't do more than that and I don't feel able to put my head back in the sand now.
