2. In simpler terms - Macron, Merkel et al are taking ages to agree whether to give Theresa May more time to get her deal through, and in the event that it can't, whether UK should have luxury of extra time to avoid making other decisions
3. Meanwhile Theresa May is not in the room, because actual decision has to be taken by the 27 other countries - if you're into Kafka, the EU summit building would be quite a good place to dream your dreams tonight - if you're not, there are crisps and coffee and a lot at stake
