1/ Lost, for the moment, is this: McConnell and Trump were told of Russian interference in the election. Trump openly welcomed it, asked Russia and Wikileaks to get emails etc, and McConnell blocked the Obama administration from warning the public.
2/ that might not reach a prosecutorial standard, but it is fucking wrong.
3/ and while Mueller doesn’t seem like one to pontificate much, his assessment on this front is something the American people need to see in full.
4/ the other thing the public must know is the pathways by which their opinions are shaped by foreign or other bad actors and what the social media companies and regulators didn’t but could do to combat.
5/ And, Bob Muller and team, thank you for your service. There’s never been any indication that you wouldn’t fight to uphold the rule of law, and there isn’t now. As we well know, criminal statutes are imperfect, and this will come down to will of the voters.
