You can always hook me with hope and change. But I also need a plan to deliver on that hope and change. A strong sense of American values. And a fighting spirit. @ewarren and @KamalaHarris are tied front-runners for me on those factors.
A certain other candidate used to be my third. But I got uncomfortable. I started feeling the Kinsey. And if you don’t know what I mean when I say “feeling the Kinsey,” you’ve never worked on a project where a couple of those android robots walked into the room.
It’s a PR firm. Their ppl are like the Stepford Wives of law, politics, doing the icky part behind scenes no matter how icky, and always coming out with perfect hair, a perfect smile, a perfect response. Same young folks drug co’s hire to lure doctors into over-prescribing.
What do I mean by “feeling the Kinsey”? Feeling the disconcerting presence of someone who’s totally empty inside, but perfect on the outside; a vessel to be filled with whatever message fits the current corporate bill. We lawyers don’t like them bc they lie, and don’t listen.
So that’s what happened to my former third place runner, with little track record and a lot of room for doubt about his values. I feel the Kinsey in his gorgeously-crafted speeches. And it scares me. It’s why we need a track record before we fall in love.
