'We might be pretty dreadful but we're not as bad as Farage' is a pitch I keep seeing from Labour. But if you reward it, if you vote for 'pretty dreadful,' you'll get the politics you deserve.
Let's not forget. Labour is led by a liar, an enabler of anti-semites, who hugs close the morally corrupt. Under him Labour is nepotistic and anti-democratic. He is pushing through a Brexit that will harm the vulnerable and which the country doesn't want. I won't vote for that.
I've got no particular axe to grind with @labourlewis who is pushing the Party line. But the inescapable fact is that both Labour and the Brexit Party want Brexit. Labour is competing with the Tories for the shrinking 'softer Brexit than Farage' vote. I won't vote for that.
The talented and committed Labour MEPs - and there are many - are running on a Manifesto that says "I want Brexit". And if they don't like the taste they should get up from the table.
And as for the threat 'Farage will get more seats than Labour', so what? What does that matter? It won't change the politics of Brexit. Brexit can only get stopped if Labour chooses to stop it. And it will only make that choice if its Remain voters desert it for Remain parties.
How did the Tory Party come to a full blooded support for Brexit? In good part because it was haemorrhaging voters to Farage, including in the 2014 European elections. How might Labour come to a full blooded support for Remain? Take a guess.
