On this Memorial Day, more than most, thoughts turn to the many in our family who've risked all for freedom, starting in the Revolution. This is my g-grandfather, Benjamin Petree. Enlisting from northwestern Mo. (Mo. 16th), he was with Sherman the last 2 years of the war.
My grandfather, Noel H. Petree, on his departure for France, WWI. He and his older brother, Leo, came home safely.
My father, Richard W. Petree, USN (WWII).
