John Minford, #SunTzu 6: 40 "War has no constant dynamic; water has no constant form."
It may be theorized that the ultimate basis of political correctness in America today is the annihilation of risk, the ascendance of security, of constancy. Are you aware that many states use cameras to clock car speed and generate traffic tickets by mail?
And just how did they accomplish this extraordinary feat? Well, there are school zone areas where speed limits are reduced, logically enough, in hopes of protecting the children. Who could argue against that (never mind the libertarian case against speed limits in general)?
But of course, speed limit reductions do not automatically turn into reduced speed, and you can't have expensive police cars with expensive policemen inside, at every possible location of speed limit infringement. So... a camera! Oh wait! There's another libertarian case here.
How did the state acquire the power to register cars with license plates? And to charge fees for this service? How did the state get the power to require insurance for each and every car? Yes, I confess, my inner libertarian is rising, and I'll do my best to smack him back down.
Well, I might as well get it off my chest. It was @realDonaldTrump who destroyed, who stole my beloved, idealistic, radical libertarianism. I found the libertarians too soft and way too far to the left for my test, before. But, there's no way to be a Trump supporter libertarian.
The way I made what peace with my loss that I could, was to realize I was merely converting from idealism to realism. That really is a step forward. Confession over.

Now, let's get back to speed cameras...
The process works like this. A city (or other district) counsel convenes and proposes a speed camera for the protection of the children. Never mind that not one child has ever been hit by a car, there. There's always the RISK that one might. So, we MUST protect the children.
The meaningless process - due to our failure to employ it to the benefit of our republic - of public comment is published. Anyone may speak to the council. Almost no one does. And, the comments have NO power or force. The council will make its own decision, of course.
So, even if some idiot libertarian like me showed up and protested, 'you have no constitutional power to infringe my liberty here,' I'd be laughed out. The council would still install the so-very-profitable speed camera. Profitable? Oh, my goodness, yes. Consider it.
You can check it out for yourself. The state and local assemblies discuss the success of the cameras, not based upon safety, but on the financial benefit to the state. Budgets are eased. Success! And how was all this achieved? Constancy, safety, security, obliteration of risk.
I'll end my rant here and get back to Master Sun's counsel with this last point. The rise of the state to obliterate risk is the absolute method of socialism, of Marx, of communism, of totalitarianism of every breed. The nation will take care of you. It must. It's only right.
Oh, oh, Elizabeth Warren. Healthcare is a right, not a privilege. My still-libertarian soul rises up with both fists clenched yelling at the TV in libertarian futility when I hear her say those evil words. Aha. I have to list out our four rights again. I just have to...
1) Life
2) Liberty
3) The Pursuit of Happiness
4) Property

These four, and these alone. Yes, specific cases are listed in our bill of rights, and thank goodness for that. Realism. Yet, the logic of these four is underneath all.
Okay then, and alas. Back to Master Sun's counsel. There is no constant dynamic in war, exactly as water has no constant form. In 1789, no one could have imagined a state nannying its people. Our America was spawned in the perpetually shifting water of resistance to power.
Tell me, and I mean it, what kind of student are you? Have you purchased John Minford's translation of Master Sun's counsel, yet? If so, how many times can you read and reread a passage? Can you find the earlier passages on hardened forms vs fluid formlessness? How many passes?
A deeper level of study is called for also. Can you read today's verse, and then, keeping it in mind, finish up the rest of this chapter NOT forgetting today's message? Consider the agility of mind required. It's absolutely NOT easy! Each verse forward, backward, interconnected.
The greatest hardened form of the left is a risk-free life, one with absolutely constant form. Nature allows this, in ice. But ice can only last for a time, and it is absolutely NOT ice that Master Sun speaks of here. War is NOT like ice. It has no constant form. War flows.
Master Sun is also NOT speaking of the rising water vapor of idealism here. War is practical. When water floods, it is not clean. It is dirty water that floods, flowing over all mankind's erections with laughing disregard. It is filthy, stinking water. And it wins the war.
Would you be a winning general? Step forward towards the dirty risk, and away from sanitary safety. Embrace the shifting forms in their unpredictable motion. Lean towards, and not away from the risk. That's how freedom works. Liberty empowers learning from risk.
Oh, and how do you stop the unconstitutional imposition of speed cameras? Show up. Show the lie of the safety argument and proclaim the illegal theft as the crime it is, and NOT a successful revenue policy. Then, expect nothing from that alone. Rather, organize. Yes, organize.
Protest. Consider civil disobedience and, cuing local news, go tear down the camera and be ready to go to jail. I can't, I have a family. Are any of you single out there, and financially secure enough to handle the risk? Organize. Publicize. And most of all, count the votes.
Not the votes on the council, the votes FOR each councilor. How do you vote out constitution destroying corruption? There is a way. It is a war. Without constant form, exactly like flowing, liquid water. Fluid formlessness is the way. You can do it. Go do it. Make it so.
150 verses completed, 272 to go.
