@JamesGrantFL Thanks for the reply!
1. Health insurance, which is how we look at business costs, was not regulated by Federal government until 2010. GOP bashes Obamacare to get votes. GOP keeps trying to kill Obamacare yet when running for office, they say gee, we won't do that this time. /1
@JamesGrantFL 1b. Your message then is Federal regulatory 'costs'. Medicare & Medicaid is what you mean. These are the largest Federal programs whose costs keep rising. GOP is targeting both programs now. Why don't you just say those costs? /2
@JamesGrantFL 1c. Are you instead focused on cutting "costs" to CHIP (2009) which is helping millions of more children? Our county has improved the health of thousands through new local clinics. Expanding health services does cost more $$$./3
@JamesGrantFL 2. As a business owner, I see the health insurance systems as pure profit seeking centers while NOT controlling business costs. Your graph proves they failed to control premiums. They took in tons & paid little out, many left uninsured. 25%+ going to bureaucrats, not hospitals./4
@JamesGrantFL 2b.GOP has not done anything to control fat insurance overhead while Obama did. You claim reverse incentive. Without competition in many states, insurance companies keep raising costs while blaming what, Obama rather than their $250,000,000/year hot shot CEO? /5
@JamesGrantFL 2c. We both agree there is not enough competition in insurance. I expect many of your homeowners are seeing major boosts in hurricane coverage and fewer providers. Your state-run FCPIC sponsored "last resort" home insurance is huge in helping keep hurricane insurance fair. /6
@JamesGrantFL 3 - When GOP starts saying 'costs too high', its public services for real people they mean. I have not felt any support in holding down our health premiums. Instead I see gearing up rhetoric by GOP to slash medicare & medicaid & obamacare. Its what the GOP does./7x
