I like that he correctly assessed that you could act like a huge putz when it comes to scrapping with Congress over domestic policy, but all of a sudden when you put on your Big Diplomacy Hat the public is more likely to treat you like a big fancy boy.
btw he’d totally pin the Trump era entirely on Mitch McConnell. it’s cute that the White House can do its little executive actions, but the president is Congress’ pet.
