Russian engineers will receive the UMZ-K (based on the KamAZ-43501 Patrul MRAP chassis) and UMZ-T (based on the KamAZ-K4386 Typhoon-VDV chassis) mine-laying vehicles in the future, which have already passed MoD tests. They will replace the ZIL-131 UMZ.

The vehicles can lay mines while traveling 40km/h and can lay down a minefield in less than 15 minutes. The UMZ-K can carry 180 mines while the UMZ-T can carry 60. The mines can be pre-set to detonate after 12 hours or up to 16 days. 2/
This is part of the Ground Forces program to replace unarmored support vehicles with MRAP-type vehicles and armored cabs that will allow them to operate on or near the FLOT (or in a local war) with greater protection. 3/

In April, a group of ~40 cadets at the premier academy that trains future VDV, spetsnaz, and NI officers, RGVVDKU, tore off their epaulettes and left them at the monument to Vasily Margelov, the former CO of the VDV. One sign said, "only Margelov can take off our epaulettes." 2/
The cadets were protesting the decision to strip them of their sky-blue epaulettes for olive drab ones standard in the rest of the military. One of the signs left at the monument said, "by taking our epaulettes, you bury our memory." 3/

The Russian Navy will begin a program to modernize its project 1124M Albatross small anti-submarine ships (MPK). They will receive the Minotaur-M digital hydroacoustic complex and the Paket-NK torpedo system, which can also counter enemy torpedoes.

The upgrades will also extend their service lives. Project 1124M ships were designed to protect naval ports from enemy submarines and escort ships in coastal areas. The VMF currently has 20 Project 1124M: 6 in the BSF, 6 in the Northern Fleet, and 8 in the Pacific Fleet. 2/
Izvestia previously reported that the Russian Navy has also embarked on a large modernization program for its project 12341 Ovod-class small missile ships (the VMF has 12) and project 1155 Udaloy-class destroyers (the VMF has 12). 3/

Retired naval officer Alexander Shishkin with a critical look at Russia's nuclear sub fleet. He argues the VMF has essentially written off at least 8 nuclear subs over the past few years. He says he is only confident in the combat capabilities of 5 SSNs.

#Russian Nanuchka-III-class corvette upgraded with 16 KH-35 anti ship missiles. Its an old ship, but I see some interesting upgrade possibilities for this class. There is one that was upgraded with 12 P-800 Oniks /Yakhont missiles (Could also use Brahmos). @CollinSLKoh
I wonder why the Russians upgraded the Tarantul design to the Molniya class, when it would it have been more effective to use the Nanuchka-III-class design which is 3 meters longer & already had a short range air defense system, something that the Molniya doesn't have.
#Vietnam has 8 Molniya class corvettes. I would have rather prefer to have a modernized version of the Nanuchka-III-class instead. Molniya class pics of the Vietnamese Navy.

1. Bad rules of engagement in Afghanistan and Iraq got people killed, needlessly. Part I of this series provided an overview of what ROEs are in general, with some expert commentary on bad ROEs, etc.
2. Part II continues commentary from a couple of folks who wish to remain anonymous (special ops, covert CIA contractor, Marine) on Iraq ROEs and the politicization of both the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns. I then wrap up the series with a short summary and conclusions.
3. <begin quotes> Same-o for Iraq, but by then the FBI had honed their skills at causing grief. I hate to say it, but I once let three guys get away that had lit me up with a PKM at night, landing me (alone) on the side of the road.

Schwere Herzkrankheit des Verstorbenen seit Geburt, mehrere Herzoperationen danach, versagensbereites Herz durch das es jederzeit zu einem Herzinfarkt kommen konnte.

Ob jemand strafrechtlich verantwortlich ist für den Herzinfarkt, ist im Ermittlungsverfahren.
