So much vom. Johnson already playing patriotism card against his opponents (‘betting against Britain’), turning people against each other, and promising a ‘new, better deal’ with no basis or evidence whatsoever. PM for all of half an hour and already he’s a fucking catastrophe.
Johnson utters the most chilling words ever uttered from the steps of Downing Street: ‘I will take personal responsibility for what happens.’

Here we go. No-deal will come because ‘Brussels will have forced it’. Of course they will, for daring not to give us all we want at expense of their political interests. His blame tactics are as transparent as they are doomed. If he shafts voters they won’t take it out on EU.
God, this is bilious. We’ve failed so far because we’ve lacked self-belief, and now we have to claim our ‘historic’ role at world’s helm. Everything, literally everything, rooted in an imagined past which for reasons unexplained will allow us to do whatever the hell we like now.
Nice touch too calling the backstop ‘undemocratic’. Would be much more democratic, of course, to allow economic devastation on the island of Ireland and break up Good Friday Agreement. Why not just admit that the iteration of Brexit itself will be undemocratic?
He truly is the most scorchingly cynical, arrogant, shallow, dishonest phony ever to dare put himself forward for public office. Never before has anyone craved so much a position they deserved so little. As with everything else in his life, it’s other people who’ll pay the price.
