NEW: Trump initiated a call to Putin today. He offered US help to fight forest fires in Siberia, Russia media reports. (Probably didn’t chew Putin out for not raking Russian forest floors.)
🤔I wonder if Russia's tweet openly asking Trump to do its bidding (to get @twitter to unblock Russia's disinformation-spewing Embassy in Syria account) had anything to do with today's phone call to Putin.

Trump called Putin today. In the midst of a brutal crackdown on dissent not seen in Russia in years, opposition candidates thrown in jail, their supporters beaten. Did Trump mention this horror? Apparently not. But Putin praised his “attentive attitude”👀 #DemDebate #PutinsPuppet 
🤔Wildfires in Siberia or wild pretext? Seems more likely Trump called Putin for the same reason Flynn called Kislyak. To warn #sanctions were coming, but not to worry. He'd make sure they wouldn't hurt Russia too much. Trump also concealed it until the Kremlin leaked the call.
