Okay, so regarding the feral hogs thing.

I get the argument that an AR-15 is the easiest way to defend your property from feral hogs. But in the long term, profligate ownership of guns is actually making the hog problem worse.

Here's why.
For those who don't understand this beyond the weird memes that suddenly exploded on social media this week: yes, feral hogs are a real problem.

They're an invasive species that is causing billions in damage to farmers and to the environment every year. They're a menace.
But here's the thing. One of the big reasons the feral hog problem is so bad is there is a whole group of people who stand to profit massively from there being a feral hog problem.

There is a huge culture around hunting them in the South. It's part of why they were brought here!
If you don't believe me, consider the fact that the hogs have been eradicated in much of the Northeast. A place where there are a lot more gun laws. popsci.com/feral-pig-prob…

People want to kill these things more than they want them to actually be dead.
So my point is, as long as we support the hunting culture that these guns foster, there will be a profit motive to *not* solve the feral hog problem.

So forgive me if I lack sympathy for those who support keeping the AR-15 legal for that reason.
