Could there be a quick UK-US trade deal? Given that neither Government is overly concerned about traditional trade policy, international institutions, or pursuing the best long-term economic interests of their country, yes. (extract from... uk.reuters.com/article/uk-usa… )

Concluding trade agreements for non-economic reasons is not that unusual, not least given the limited economic benefit of trade deals. In this circumstance very important that business, consumers etc with interests know these and communicate them clearly and publicly.
Tough ask to prepare for a no-deal Brexit, the possibility that doesn't happen, and a major trade deal. Even tougher given a Government without well-established consultation mechanisms with business or Parliament. But no longer time to complain, preparation now essential.
Very important too that MPs on return don't just focus on deal or no-deal, but also on the UK-US trade deal. Number one demand should be Government publishing negotiating objectives for such a deal. @AngusMacNeilSNP @hilarybennmp and others...?
@AngusMacNeilSNP @hilarybennmp PS A reasonable point is made in reply, and has been made by others not least @EmporersNewC that the main obstacle to such a UK-US deal may be the US Congress. But we need our own mechanisms in the UK, which we currently don't have
