Read this and you’ll see why I don’t believe in overlooking the demagoguery. Read the comments of progressives who have been lied to and whipped into a frenzy to reject Trudeau. Spouting CPC talking points, sanctimonious in their self assured superiority.
Then hopefully the concepts I tried to communicate to an NDP supporter yesterday and this morning make sense.

Democracy is dead if this continues. Smears, lies and character assassination is no way to run a democratically principled campaign. It’s not leadership, it’s demagoguery and a bastardization of progressive values for personal and party gain.
It needs to be called out by all progressives. All parties and leadership need to be called out for using Finkelstein Methods and psychological manipulation.

Frankly, it disqualifies any politician employing them, in my view. You aren’t fit for public office if you must use trickery, lies and psychological warfare to convince the public to vote for you.
Everyone focusses on the far right. CPC has used Finkelstein since the inception of the Reform party. But progressive politicians have picked up the torch and are running with it lighting fires.

We MUST hold leaders accountable. Reclaim democracy & the progressive beliefs & values that have shaped this country since the Great Depression. We need to remind progressive leaders they are accountable to the voters. Now put down the demagogue’s torch.
