1. Gas Infrastructure Development Case was announced in 2011 by Zardari Govt to collect extra tax/fee for Iran-Pakistan Gas pipeline.
2. CNG station owners, businessmen and other traders went to court and got a stay order.
4. 2015 HC announced it in the favor of businessmen and govt lost the case.
5. It is still under review in SC and so far govt has not rcvd a single paisa
7. Govt strikes a deal to get Rs.400B (instead of 0 Rs.) in return to end the fee by law and withdraw the case.
8. The case can prolong for another 10yrs with no significant outcome
10. We do have tax free industrial zones around the country where no tax is collected for the first 5 years, to kick
11. All media channels/whatsapp groups are telling half truth, businesses do get a Rs.300B relief, but they are paying Rs.400B.
12. The case was already decided by the courts in favor of businessmen, it is under review and most
13. In case govt loses the case, it will get 0 Rs. and then all these so called analysts will say govt should have struck the deal.
14. The moral of the story is, don't buy into the propaganda. The critics will never be happy. One way or
I think the current decision is the best possible in the interest of Pakistan.
