Nobody talks about UKIP these days. That's because electorally they're irrelevant. But in very tight marginals, their otherwise risible vote share might make the difference, assuming they run candidates. So might we see the Tories do a pact with them too?
"Smartest" would be to gift them 1 MP in a very safe leave seat (agree it with the Brexit Party too) and in exchange they stand down all over the rest of the UK. 1 MP would be infinitely better than 0 from their POV. It shows they're still a "real" party and gets them on TV.
(To be clear, by "gift" I mean neither the Tories nor the BP would stand candidates in that one area.)
I have no idea if the Tories are thinking along these lines, or indeed thinking of UKIP at all. But given all their other tricks, you have to expect the unexpected.
