[Thread] This is a follow-up analysis to the one I did on 1st September. Today @BorisJohnson tweeted once again on the hashtag #LeaveOct31 [See screenshot]. He sent an identical tweet on 10th September too. Here I analyse 5942 tweets sent both today (13th) and on the 10th.

In my original thread I found that around 8% of accounts retweeting Boris Johnson's #LeaveOct31 were accounts supporting Donald Trump. Three days later, I discovered that 25% of retweets of another Boris tweet were performed by MAGA Trump supporters #StopTheBrexitCoup

3/ But first up, here's a nice little animation of Boris' Retweet today. Boris is in the middle, and all the nodes around him are the retweets. The yellow nodes are accounts that mention Trump-related terms (#KAG, #MAGA etc). The blue nodes are ones that do not.

4/ This image gives an approximation of the amount of MAGA counts are retweeting Johnson. In numbers, around 564 accounts of 4,298 accounts with biographical details mention a Trump-related term. That's around 13%. #StopTheCoup

5/ As we have come to expect,the terms 'Trump' and 'MAGA' are among the most popular biographical descriptions. In fact, they are the third and fourth most popular terms. MAGA alone appears 307 times. #StopTheCoop

6/ As I discussed in another thread, although only 3% of Boris's actual followers appear to be MAGA type accounts, they are disproportionately active in retweeting Johnson. Indeed, we now see a range of about 8-25% of retweets undertaken by MAGA-type accounts.

7/ So in sum, pro-Trump Twitter accounts still represent a significant proportion of active re tweeters of Boris Johnson's tweets advocating a hard Brexit. Indeed, they are perhaps the second most singular identifiable cohesive community in this sample. #StopTheCoop

8/ There is no indication to suggest that any of the inauthentic activity has abated. Many of the same MAGA accounts retweeting Boris 2 weeks ago still RT him today. So in short the Prime Minister of the UK has a TL compromised in some way by numerous trolls/bots. Good times

9/ Perhaps the most alarming point, and I can't stress this enough. Many of the same MAGA accounts retweeting Johnson are also promoting the departure of Justin Trudeau and regime change in Iran - among other things. The actual number is unclear at the moment.
