Johnson having clueless questions spun against him by Team Juncker in September 2019 is a word by word repeat of May having clueless questions spun against her by Team Juncker in April 2017.

Standing at the lectern and braving the boos would have made sense if "British bulldog braving dastardly mini-Frogs" was the plan

English speculation around setting up border controls in Ireland ignores where the impact of the blame game will be most important. Namely in Northern Ireland itself. Who thinks or says what in England will be at most secondary to how people react in Ireland and Northern Ireland
So what if Brexiters in England make this or that claim in the first weeks of a No Deal scenario? The behaviour of local citizens and politicians on both sides of the actual border will be far more important in terms of determining whether Northern Ireland stays in the UK Union
The UK government no longer has the policing or military resources to deploy to Northern Ireland that it still had in the 1980s. The British state will struggle to counteract any moves on the ground to de facto challenge London's ability to shape Northern Ireland's future.

In that piece @prospect_clark points out (as he must) that the date on which we leave the #EU is set by its law, not ours. A #NoDealBrexit will place us at the mercy of all. Our MPs control UK laws only, But until #Brexit-day we have control of one thing: we can #RevokeArticle50.
It should by now be clear that there is no deal that is better than the one that we have. Within the #EU we have some control, have some part in shaping its laws & the way its laws are applied. 'Take back control' is a slogan wrapped round a lie that in the EU we have no control.

First things first, it is important to point out, again, that the news of both HSBC and UBS closing down what are essentially satellite offices in #Nigeria is really a non-issue.
HSBC for example, is cutting its branches in up to a quarter of the 67 countries it operates in last I checked, so again, that is not the issue.
What should terrify us is that in the last year, foreign direct investment into our country has plunged by a factor of 30%.

That is significant, and if #Nigeria were serious, there should be a cabinet level meeting, but no, meat-heads will be masturbating about "corruption".

First, to quote the great Ann Coulter, it's laughable to think that any Founder, Framer or Amender of the Constitution intended for American citizenship to be the prize in a game of Red Rover with the Border Patrol. We're a nation of laws, after all.
Second, #14Amendment was one of three emancipation-related amendments to the #Constitution, designed to grant citizenship to former slaves and their children. The congressional record shows nobody believed 600,000 Americans died to give Congress the chance to open the borders.
