2. It would mean agreeing to concessions on areas such as agriculture and pharmaceuticals that we have resisted for years. And that nutters are using brexit to try to slip under the back door.

Tend to say leaving the EU and taking tariffs on EU trade opens up the world. When it closes it
Trade 2. Commonwealth EMOTION.
The belief is EU suppresses trade with the Commonwealth. Don't know, once you exclude individual negotiations with Canada/Aus/India, that the EU gives most of the Commonwealth tariff-free access to the EU. Instead, leave means going backwards.

Because surely, if you're going to use it, the first thing you should ask is, will we be independent?

Im afraid the answer is more 👇 which you won't like, but #fbpe will feel guilty if we don't try to tell you.
Laws. Will we have more control?

No. Categorically not

We will have no more or less ability to set British law after "independence"

Nothing will change. We'll just have more work and a less efficient state and we'll struggle to influence international stuff like air pollution.
Borders
Looking like less control. At one time we were throwing them wide open with no controls. We still are in NI.

We wont put visas in for EU because we don't want them for our citizens. So borders. Nothing changes with #BritishIndependence

#FBPE With the frankly bizarre news today that Northern Ireland is the latest sacrificial lamb to #Brexit, let's talk seriously about Open-Ended Mandates, Article 50 Validity and resetting the ratchet

Brexit has become a farce which no-one voted for. And *that* BREAKS Article 50
For context on Northern Ireland, read Peter Foster's thread. The unmasking helps because the most ardent Brexiter can't claim Northern Ireland was part of the Brexit mandate

Why? They famously forgot about NI in 2016. We did NOT vote to split the UK

Now let's talk "Consent of the Governed". In Summary and in thread:

Monarchs had divine power, which was limited by consent

Brexiters cannot behave like divine monarchs, stretching definitions of consent infinitely or saying consent was given by omission

OK, to summarise. What we didn't necessarily know about Brexit in 2016, but we are fairly sure about now. (Most projects would expect you do your due diligence - and have a project plan, and clear objectives) BEFORE starting work).
1. There will be a medium-term shortage of medical isotopes (diagnostic and therapeutic). Medicines, especially temperature-sensitive ones like insulin, hormones, and targeted immunotherapy, will be in short supply. People could have their health put at risk, and some may die.
2. There will be shortages of food, especially fresh foods such as salads, vegetables, fruit and milk. The UK has not been self-sufficient in food since 1850. Tight-budget items such as school meals, hospital and care home food will suffer most.

Amid reports that #UK PM @theresa_may hopes to renegotiate the "backstop" provision on the Northern Ireland border, let's recall that she already made clear what she wants in her letter to #EU leaders before disastrously losing the #Brexit Withdrawal Treaty ratification vote. 1/
"This could be mitigated by changes to the backstop itself," she wrote to @eucopresident & @JunckerEU "Proposals for a way in which the UK could choose to exit the backstop unilaterally were it ever to come into force, or for a hard time limit... 2/
on the duration of the usage of the backstop, have been raised and discussed in Parliament. We have also raised them previously in negotiations." So there are her proposals, i.e. the EU should basically just cave on backstop in face of House of Commons defeat. But but but ... 3/
