@CreativeTweets @univrsle Military could make argument that military folks pay provincial taxes. They did not say that at any point in their statement to us. We asked what was going on. That said, people from out province pay in their province too but are still charged an external rate when the come in
@CreativeTweets @univrsle Actually 5 tweets not 3... the system has always worked this way - Canada Health Act makes it clear. Military is federal responsibility, should they change the rates they're paying? Perhaps, but it was done without consultation which only started after provinces freaked.
@CreativeTweets @univrsle DND is looking to cut spending in a ballooning healthcare budget and believe hospitals are gouging them (in story). There's a few key things here: the military is actively trying to cut what it spends there; there was not consultation and this puts troops in the middle.
